Duties
Installation and troubleshooting of equipment ranging from desktop workstations to enterprise grade servers and firewalls.  Systems included CentOS, Smoothwall, Monowall, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP.
Accomplishments
· Setup and configuration of streaming radio for commercial radio stations
· Setup and configuration of site-to-site VPN to sync Quickbooks POS financial software, using two small Soekris boxes running Monowall..

Duties
Initial setup, installation, configuration, and maintenance of FreeBSD servers to support custom software running on the Apache webserver.  Installation and maintenance of Bugzilla.  General security audits.

Functioned as part of a team designing and laying out commercial advertisements in a fast-paced environment with strict, daily deadlines.  Worked side-by-side with bachelor's degree holders in graphic design and digital imaging.
Accomplishments
? Learned Multi-Ad Creator quickly enough that by the end of second day on the job I was explaining to co-workers how to set tabs in the program.

Duties
Conducted computer-based research in theoretical physics.   Installation and maintenance of systems running various versions of Red Hat Linux.  Responsible for experiment set-up, data collection and analysis, research presentation, and equipment maintenance.  Worked side-by-side with doctorate holders in physics and computer science.
Accomplishments
? Designed and built unique systems featuring two complete Pentium 4 systems within one standard, off-the-rack PC tower, running Red Hat Linux 8.  Fondly dubbed "Frankencases" by my superiors.
? Assisted in installation of 32-node Xeon Beowulf cluster at Y.S.U
? Gained valuable experience working on UNIX/Linux systems.
? Presented research on the Sagnac Effect at the American Physical Society conference on Quantum Computing at Michigan State University.

Functioned as part of a team designing, laying out, and adjusting envelope artwork, and optimizing this artwork for use on the Scitex Business Color Press.  Worked side-by-side with bachelor's degree holders in graphic design and digital imaging.
Accomplishments
? Received numerous commendations from superiors for the quality and promptness of my work, and dedication towards getting the job done.
? Gained valuable experience in dealing with the Scitex Business Color Press, and adjusting artwork to properly print on it.
? Learned to work directly with an imagesetter.
? Gained familiarity with many specifications for commercial mail within both the U.S.A and Canada, including the placement of postnet codes.

Duties
Responsible for all graphic design and layout for a mid-sized printing company.  Dealt with customers directly on a daily basis, and even assisted them in copywriting and editing on many occasions.
Accomplishments
? Learned Quark quickly enough to be working competently in the program by the end of first week.
? Developed a close enough relationship with the Mahoning County Soil and Water District to be given almost complete artistic control over all work for them.
? Learned to work very closely with camera and press operators, and to optimize artwork for them.
