Updated Talks

Its been a while since I updated, and I've given several talks in the interim. First there was the PFSense talk I gave at ALUG. Then there were the two talks I gave for theNortheast Ohio Information Security Forum covering the sectools.org top 100 list. I covered 11 - 20 and 31 - 40.

Nagios talk at ALUG

Tonight I gave a talk on Nagios at the Akron Linux Users Group. I've put the content of my talk online here for anyone who missed it, or just wanted to take a second look at the slides.

Content of my Notacon Talks

We had some technical difficulties during my first presentation, so unless you had a laptop available, you didn't get the benefit of my slides :/ I've put the content of that talk, Mobile Honeypots, How to Catch a Laptop Thief online here, as well as the content of the second talk, Ricing Out Your Linux Box. There were a lot of really interesting questions and comments about the honeypot talk, I have plans to elaborate on and implement some of these things in the future. So check back at this website for more content ;)

I'll be speaking at Notacon

Call for presentations has ended, and two of my talks have been accepted for this year's Notacon! One is called "Ricing Out Your Linux Box" and will cover various ways of adding eyecandy to a Linux desktop. The other talks is "Mobile Honeypots: How to Catch a laptop Thief" and will discuss and demonstrate some techniques to recover a stolen laptop through the use of special software and a little misdirection.

Linuxfest will have Live Penguins

We did a lot of planning for Ohio Linuxfest 2006 at this year's Notacon, and its been confirmed by Damin that we've booked live penguins from the Columbus Zoo to appear at Linuxfest. This is officialy the cutest thing you've heard today.
